The Arts, Sciences, and Engineering Graduate Commencement ceremony is open to the following students:
- Master’s, doctoral, and postbaccalaureate certificate students in the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Science and Engineering
- Graduates with degrees that were officially awarded in 2022, 2023 or 2024
- Students who expect to complete their graduate degree by December 31, 2024, and have met their program's eligibility requirements for commencement attendance
Registration instructions and deadline
The registration deadline is Friday, March 15, 2024
Students will receive an email invitation at their UMN account from MarchingOrder with instructions on how to register for the commencement ceremony.
Invitations will be sent in early February to the following:
- Students who completed a graduate degree between June 2023-December 2023
- All graduate students who are active in spring semester 2024
Students who graduated before summer 2023 and would like to participate should contact [email protected].
Name recording and personalized slide
Each graduate’s name will be pre-recorded by professional voice talent for announcement at the ceremony. You will have the opportunity to provide pronunciation information during registration. You may also upload a photo and/or personal message to create a personalized slide; see below for a sample. Slides will be displayed on the arena scoreboard before the ceremony begins.
Students must register no later than March 15 to have their name recorded, have a personalized slide created, and have their name included in the commencement booklet.
